The Game is a book written by Neil Strauss who is the self proclaimed “Greatest Pick up Artist in this World”. The Game records the Journey of Neil Strauss as he delved deep into the secret seduction community during the late 90s of the online seducers, who helped him rid his fear of interacting with women. Neil’s Book chronicles how this famous seducing artist ended up bedding numerous women after he got associated with online seducers.

Neil Strauss is revered by other top PUAs as the friendliest of PUAs you’ll ever meet. 

The Game details and engages the reader about some of the biggest Pick Up Artists this world, although Neil Strauss’s book “the game” is not a guidebook on how to pickup women, still it featured on the  New York Time’s  list of best selling books. The Game also became one of the top most selling books on Amazon.com soon after it was released. Neil Strauss became extremely wealthy almost overnight.

The Game also features Britney Spears and Paris Hilton who had incidentally exchanged numbers Neil Strauss in the course of an interview.

There are various sub plots incorporated into The Game that portrays how Neil Strauss had attempted at altering his sleep regime. Certain amount of trivia is also included as Neil Strauss describes how a pick up artist by the name of Tyler Durden attempted to sabotage on purpose the business of Mystery (know from mystery method) and steal Neil’s girls. Tyler Durden got his name after being inspired by watching Fight Club where Brad Pitt played the role of Tyler Durden.

As The Game was published there was a certain amount of criticism that was received from various angles of the society. Some of the seduction artists who were featured in the book became anxious regarding the fact that their practices might become known, thereby rendering them useless. They weren’t to happy with Neil Strauss.

A certain group of people accused the author for turning the book into a publicity stunt. These people were of the opinion that this book was a way to further the writing career of the author whilst spinning more money.   

Certain feminist groups also started complaining that the book had undertones of misogyny; the feminists said that the objectification of he women in the eyes of the Pick up Artists was evident by the act of rating women on the scale of 1-10, this was considered an insult.

Neil Strauss countered this complaint by the feminists by pointing out the fact that men were also evaluated by women, according to certain criteria like how much wealth the man possesses. The author further added that rating the woman on a scale was simply a method to put into the words the age old practice of mate selection among human beings.

As we all know that men and women subconsciously tend to feel attracted to members of the opposite sex depending on various factors like their biological make up, and their genetics. So rating of the members of the opposite sex has been known to be a common practice among members of both the gender.

The Game by Neil Strauss has paved the way for various reality shows like the one aired on British Media called “Seduction School” where a Pick up Artist tries to turn around the luck of 3 men with non existent love lives and the Pick up artist VH1.
